Tupelo Honey Cafe, Knoxville, TN

https://tupelohoneycafe.com/knoxville

A sweet little spot in downtown Knoxville. Has a frozen strip on the bar where you can set your drink down and it'll always be cold- ingenious!  I had the pimento cheese burger. I asked for medium and got well done.  By the time someone asked me if it was ok and I told them it was over cooked, it was to late to have another...or should I say I could not have eaten another.  However, the manager and bartender did everything they could to convince me they would bring me anything I wanted. That made it a place I will return.  It's a hoppin' place so if you plan to go, get there early. It's crowded. And when you sit down they bring you a homemade biscuit the size of a plate and homemade jam....I mean who needs a burger after that?

Old Town Tavern, Ann Arbor, MI

Just a fair burger. Wouldn't go back, but it's a classic college town joint in Ann Arbor.

Ashten's, Southern Pines, NC

This is a fine burger. Although it was a bit over cooked, I knew it was quality meat.  This is a little gem in Southern Pines.  We got a tray of ketchup- house made. Good sweet potato fries. A good stop with my good friend Beth.

The Town Haul, Harrison, MT

Ok, ok, this place is for real. First, check out the chicken fried steak!  Bigger than your head. Second, my burger. Not bad for being in the middle of nowhere.   The decor is priceless.  And then check out how I got there.  1 1/2 hour ride over a mountain on rock, dirt and impassable roads on a 4 wheeler.  Fun. Made the burger better!  If you're in Montana- check this place out!

Whitherspoon Grill, Princeton, NJ

This is a classic place in Princeton.  A solid burger, not awesome, not bad.  Nice outdoor patio makes it better.  Here with my good friend Stephen Ban and Asst. Coach Mitch Dalton.   Maybe that burger was good because we beat Harvard in football that day!

Cheeburger, Cheeburger Detroit Airport

Well, I had to go at some point!  This was my first Cheeburger trip. Somewhat disappointing.  It was overcooked. If it hadn't been, it might have been good.  I guess it's not bad for fast food.

Jam's - Omaha, NE

http://www.jamseats.com/

After eating numerous average burgers in teh meat capital of the USA, my good friend Harley steered me to Jam's  This was the best burger we had on the trip.  It was a just a hair overcooked which made it miss the mark, otherwise it would have been a top ranked burger.  I definitely would eat there again.

Stella's - Omaha, NE

This place delivered a good burger....on a napkin. That's right- no plates in this joint!  Good burgers, great atmosphere and makes for a good story by the time you leave!  A definite stopping place.

Upstream Brewery - Omaha, NE

This is a nice brew-pub.  The food, however, is not the greatest.  This burger while not to bad going down, did not stay with me long so who knows what was in it!  There are better Omaha restaurants to eat in!

Billy Frog's Bar- Omaha, NE

In over 100 burgers I have only had to literally spit out 2 of them. One was in Boston...go figure.  This one joined the group as clearly one of the worst burgers in America.  I will say the the little man cooking who had about 3 teeth was probably the best part of the experience- he couldn't have been nicer.  Do not go eat at this place!

Alchemist & Barrister- Princeton, NJ

This is a classic college town, Princeton place to go. They offer a consistent burger and great atmosphere.  You'll often find me here when life calls for a burger.

Dinkers Bar & Grill, Omaha, NE

Rated Omaha's best burger, I would have to disagree. The folks who work there and eat there could not be nicer and more fun, but the burger fell short.  The atmosphere is priceless and if you want a real dive bar- GO!  Order the mac-n-cheese bites- at least they were good!

The Palmer House, Princeton, NJ

A private club in Princeton, this place surprised me with a good burger.  A bit overcooked, but the meat was quality and the fries helped a great deal!

Rocky Hill Tavern, Rocky Hill, NJ

http://rockyhilltavern.com/

This NJ Pub has changed hands many time over the years.  It always comes come to "Rocky Hill Tavern". Recently voted as one of the top burgers in NJ, we set out to give it a shot.  It's a solid burger. It was a bit overcooked so it could have been a star, but fell short.  It's still a good destination burger for NJ!

La Paryse- Montreal, Canada

hmmmm....was ok- I think there are better to be had in Montreal!
