Tupelo Honey Cafe, Knoxville, TN

https://tupelohoneycafe.com/knoxville

A sweet little spot in downtown Knoxville. Has a frozen strip on the bar where you can set your drink down and it'll always be cold- ingenious!  I had the pimento cheese burger. I asked for medium and got well done.  By the time someone asked me if it was ok and I told them it was over cooked, it was to late to have another...or should I say I could not have eaten another.  However, the manager and bartender did everything they could to convince me they would bring me anything I wanted. That made it a place I will return.  It's a hoppin' place so if you plan to go, get there early. It's crowded. And when you sit down they bring you a homemade biscuit the size of a plate and homemade jam....I mean who needs a burger after that?

Old Town Tavern, Ann Arbor, MI

Just a fair burger. Wouldn't go back, but it's a classic college town joint in Ann Arbor.

Ashten's, Southern Pines, NC

This is a fine burger. Although it was a bit over cooked, I knew it was quality meat.  This is a little gem in Southern Pines.  We got a tray of ketchup- house made. Good sweet potato fries. A good stop with my good friend Beth.

The Town Haul, Harrison, MT

Ok, ok, this place is for real. First, check out the chicken fried steak!  Bigger than your head. Second, my burger. Not bad for being in the middle of nowhere.   The decor is priceless.  And then check out how I got there.  1 1/2 hour ride over a mountain on rock, dirt and impassable roads on a 4 wheeler.  Fun. Made the burger better!  If you're in Montana- check this place out!

Whitherspoon Grill, Princeton, NJ

This is a classic place in Princeton.  A solid burger, not awesome, not bad.  Nice outdoor patio makes it better.  Here with my good friend Stephen Ban and Asst. Coach Mitch Dalton.   Maybe that burger was good because we beat Harvard in football that day!

Cheeburger, Cheeburger Detroit Airport

Well, I had to go at some point!  This was my first Cheeburger trip. Somewhat disappointing.  It was overcooked. If it hadn't been, it might have been good.  I guess it's not bad for fast food.
